Patio

The right hardscaping project will transform your backyard from your dog’s’ domain into a beautiful oasis for enjoying your morning cup of coffee or the perfect location for entertaining friends and family on a crisp, fall evening. When planning out your new backyard space, the backbone of any hardscaping project is a beautiful and durable patio. Within the hardscaping industry, there are three main patio options—the paver patio, the stamped concrete patio, and the higher end porcelain patio. Choosing between the three is a matter of carefully considering your own personal preferences concerning the look and feel of the patio, while taking into account the cost and overall longevity of the life of the patio.

Creating a backyard retreat is no small expense. Because of this, we always encourage our customers to know what options are available to them before beginning their hardscaping projects. When we leave after completing a project, we want to be confident you have chosen a patio which you be happy with for years to come. To make the decision easier for you, we have put together your go-to guide on three backyard patios offered by Hinkle Hardscape.

Types of Backyard Patios

The Paver Patio

A paver patio uses interlocking stones to create a beautiful patio which is durable and requires a very small amount of upkeep over the years. A wide variety of stones can be used to create the exact look you desire, including:

  • flagstone
  • cobblestone
  • setts or Belgian Blocks
  • artificial stone
  • tiles
  • bricks

The team at Hinkle are qualified to skillfully and quickly install a paver patio, having been certified by both the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute and the Pave Tech Advanced Paver Installation Course.

The Stamped Concrete Patio

Using stamps, stains, and dyes, we can create the patio of your dreams on an existing or newly installed concrete patio. Recent advances in the hardscape industry allows homeowners to mimic any look at a much lower cost by embossing or stamping designs into their concrete patio.

Hinkle Hardscape has the largest concrete stamp collection in the Kansas City area—the possibilities for your backyard space are endless! Additionally, our team has been trained by Bob Harries of the Decorative Concrete Institute, allowing us to create high quality and long-lasting backyard projects you can enjoy for years to come. Here is a peak at our stamped concrete process:

  • First, we pour and smooth the slab of perfectly mixed concrete for the project.
  • Second, using stamps, we press the design of your choice into the concrete while it is still wet.
  • Third, unless we previously mixed color into the concrete, we stain the finished product.
  • Lastly, we use a high quality concrete sealer which protects your patio and helps maintain the beautiful appearance for the long-term.

Higher End Finishes

For the discerning look, we also offer patios created with beautiful porcelain tiles, starting at $20 per square-foot, this is a newer product and has become a popular choice for higher end projects.

Ultimately, finding the  right patio for your backyard oasis is a matter of choosing what works best for your space and gives you the look and feel you desire. As the top rated Kansas City patio contractors, We work carefully with clients to plan their space to ensure they are thrilled with the end result.
