This Leawood project is a great example of Hinkle’s skill. They had a large lawn and, like most builds, a simple, square builder’s-grade concrete slab. Without any set function, it was underutilized and underappreciated.
Above is a photo of their previous space. Our designer, Randy Phillips, met with them to take measurements, explore their ideas, and discuss budgetary numbers. Something that makes our process so unique is the 3D designs that our team prepares to help clients get an idea of what their new space can become. Randy helped them bring their vision into reality.
Once the design was perfected and exactly what the homeowners dreamed, it was time for construction! This begins by demoing and removing the previous concrete slab to make space for their much larger patio space. The family chose a foundation of broom finish concrete with decorative diamond saw cuts.
From there, our experienced crew completed the vertical elements that make a backyard project like this a true outdoor living space. These beautiful blocks utilized in dark, neutral shades created a sleek, modern look that brought this project to a whole new level. See the finished project in the photo below.
For the grill station, seating wall, and gas fire table, this family chose Unilock’s Lineo Dimensional Stone, in the shades Granite and Onyx.
