Hinkle Hardscapes has been providing beautiful outdoor living transformations to Kansas City families for over a decade. These projects aren’t only our job, they’re also our passion! We take pride in the work that we do, and we constantly strive for excellence. From initial design meetings, to 3D renderings, installations and final inspections, our team treats each project as if it were being installed at our own home.

Our pool installations are quick, surprisingly affordable, and an amazing addition to any home. After all, there’s nothing like coming home to a backyard oasis! Not only are these spaces perfect for relaxing at the end of a long day at work, they also provide entertainment that the whole family can enjoy — not to mention, swimming is a great way to keep fit! After all, swimming is one of the best forms of exercise there is!

Hinkle Hardscapes was fantastic. They were easy to work with and came up with a brilliant design for our backyard patio and sidewalk. The leadership was great and the workers were very good. We enjoyed the thoroughness of working with everyone. Thanks for a good job!

Swim In a Few Weeks

If you’ve seriously been thinking about installing a pool, you’re probably familiar with the concept of a fiberglass pool. These pools are highly durable one-piece shells. Each pool is delivered by semi-truck to the residence, and then hoisted by crane. The shell is then placed into a meticulously pre-dug hole. The entire installation process is fairly quick. This is one of the many great things about a fiberglass pool; they don’t take too long to install!

So, how fast is fast? Most of our pool projects are installed in a matter of days! Contrarily, a concrete or liner pool can take several months to install. The speed of installation for a fiberglass pool is very appealing because it minimizes interruptions and the clutter that most home improvement projects require. From the time we arrive, dig the hole, set the pool and pour the coping, you could be swimming within a few weeks!

Why Fiberglass Is The Only Way To Go

At Hinkle Hardscapes, we exclusively install fiberglass pools — and for good reason. When purchasing an inground pool, homeowners have three options; liner, gunite and fiberglass. To tell you the truth, we’ve actually experimented with all three of these types of pools. In the end, we feel strongly the fiberglass is the superior option for most homeowners living in the Kansas City and surrounding areas.

Liner pools are the most affordable in-ground pool option. However, like most things in life, the cheapest way isn’t always the best way. Liner pools are extremely high maintenance, as the liner is easily torn. Children’s toys and dogs nails are often the culprit of a damage liner. The truth is that you’re probably going to have to replace the liner of the pool every 3-5 years. So even though the upfront costs look minimal, a liner pool will suck your bank account dry in the long run.

Gunite (or concrete) pools are the most expensive in-ground pool option. They also take the longest to install. One of the biggest drawbacks of a gunite pool is the long term maintenance and expenses that you’ll have. These pools will eventually crack, as any concrete does. This is an especially problematic issue in the Kansas City and surrounding areas. We have a very high clay density in our soils, not to mention a frequent freeze/thaw climate. All of these factors make concrete very susceptible to cracking. Repairing a gunite pool is inevitable and will cost you thousands!

Very pleased with the job Hinkle Hardscapes did on our patio, sitting walls, built-in fire pit and grill station. Would definitely recommend them for any patio projects.

Low Maintenance Means More Fun For You

Perhaps one of the best aspects of a fiberglass pool is that they are incredibly low maintenance in comparison to concrete or liner pools. Why you ask? — because fiberglass is a non-porous surface. This means that nothing is getting in, and nothing is getting out. Many people are surprised to learn that gunite pools are extremely porous. Porous pools are susceptible to algae and bacterial growth. This means that fiberglass pools require less chemicals, which is safer for you and your family…..

And less chemicals means less money and less time spent on maintaining your pool. So, instead of scrubbing and constantly monitoring PH levels, you’ll spend more time relaxing in the water! After all, the whole point of investing in an outdoor living project is so that you can enjoy it with the people you love most.

More BANG For Your Buck!

When comparing your options, fiberglass pools fall somewhere in between liner and gunite. On average, our pool projects start at around $90,000. This price point allows many of our clients to incorporate the other hardscape elements that they really want! Many of our pool projects are built with a beautiful stamped concrete or paver decking. This really enhances the space and allows more room for furniture.

If you want to take your pool project to the next level, incorporating other hardscape elements is the way to go! A grill station or outdoor kitchen is a very popular addition to a pool project. You’ll love having parties in the backyard with all your family and friends. Whatever hardscape elements you’re wanting to incorporate, our team of designers are happy to help you build the dream backyard you’ve always dreamed of.

This company is the “complete package”! The communication with customers was top notch, the staff went above and beyond anytime we asked something of them, and the work crews were very skilled and paid attention to even the smallest details of our project. We will always choose and recommend Hinkle Hardscapes!
