5 Holiday Activities The Kids Will Love!

merry christmas from hinkle hardscapes

At Hinkle Hardscapes, the only thing we love more than outdoor living spaces is spending time with our family! Here are 5 fun, festive, activities you can do with your kids this holiday season.

1). Cinnamon Ornaments

Not only will these smell amazing, they are relatively messy free (although we’re sure your kid would accept the challenge). Instead of paint or glitter, these ornaments require only a few simple materials: whole cinnamon sticks, twine, hot glue (or tape) and assorted ribbon.

2). Bird Seed Ornament

These are so much fun to make! Kids will love seeing birds and squirrels nibble on the treats they made. These could also be great gifts for friends and neighbors. Check out the full recipe here.

3). Rice Crispy Treat Trees!

These are adorable and oh-so delicious! They are not much more complicated than traditional rice crispy treats. They require a little green food coloring, some icing, and m&m’s. Check out the full recipe here.

4). Magical Mad Libs!

Who doesn’t love Mad Libs?! There are tons of festive, ready to print, options on Pinterest or Etsy.

5). Give Something Meaningful

Teach your kids what the holidays are really about. It’s not all about gifts, or some creepy elf. These donation bags are easy and affordable to make. They can be taken to homeless shelters, or simply passed out to those at a red light. Remember to include non perishable items! Granola bars, vitamins and socks are a great idea!
